We are overjoyed to start the vendor application process for the DFW Fiber Fest Market 2023!

If you just want to jump in, the application is linked here. Our application deadline is Jan. 8, 2023. Please ensure you include a link to a Google Photos album! Without photos, we will be unable to consider your application and we don’t have the bandwidth to follow up and request photos from you separately. If you are unsure how to create a shared Google Photos album, Google has some good instructions, depending on your operating system, on their support pages.

For those interested in our selection process, read on.

DFW Fiber Fest is held annually in Irving, Texas, at the Irving Convention Center, with load-in and Market setup scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023. In 2022, which was our first year back after Covid cancellations, our event had about 500 students and volunteers and approximately 2000 additional attendees through the door over the course of the three days that our Market was open to the public. With our class offerings expanding in 2023, we expect even more in the coming year. Our Market hours are 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Sunday.

DFW Fiber Fest’s Market is a juried show-floor that is carefully curated and begins with you sending in your application. This year, we’re trying to simplify the process, so rather than asking you to email photos, we’d like you to create a Google Photos Album and share the link with us. There is a spot in the application to provide this link.

Our application is located here.

Applications and photographs must be received by Jan. 8, 2023, to be considered by our jury for our 2023 show. After that date, all applications will be placed on a wait list for consideration only if space becomes available.

PLEASE be precise and double check your entries — especially on phone numbers, email addresses and websites. There is no score for spelling or grammar on answers to to questions, but contact information is critical. If we cannot see your products or get in touch with you due to mistyped contact information, that would be unfortunate.

If you are new to our application process, let us tell you a little about our Market curation and jury process. We work with our fiber community to curate a diverse Market filled with a variety of fibers and gear from the trusty foundational favorites to the startling and innovative never seen before things. We look for a mix of returning and new vendors. Many of our attendees return year after year and appreciate knowing that some vendors have always been part of the vendor hall and will likely have a booth again in the upcoming event. We also welcome and encourage new vendors who will bring excitement and anticipation of the unknown, as our attendees contemplate what treasures and unique items they will find. We take great pride and pleasure in our tradition of introducing newer hand dyers to our Market, so if you are just starting out, don’t let that deter you from applying. We also have some introductory, smaller booths we call Stitcher’s Row, and work with sponsors to assure those spaces are as affordable as possible, for those just starting out.

Our Market is a joyful gathering place for makers, designers, students, fiberphiles, and friendly enablers seeking to acquire the tools and materials for creation of masterpieces or to flesh out their stashes and collections. We all understand that supply curation is a perfectly valid hobby all its own. We look for the tried-and-true product lines along with things that are new and innovative. We look for vendors who follow the trends — and get ahead of them. We look for attractive, creative booths that are visually pleasing and accessible to our wide range of attendees.

DFW Fiber Fest is an Urban Market that is entirely indoors, centrally located in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, and while many of our vendors have farms and ranches, and bring products from those ventures, we do not have space or the facilities appropriate for livestock.

Finally, DFW Fiber Fest is a community of diverse individuals who comprise our staff, teachers, attendees, and vendors. We are a family. All of us. Whether you are the revered family Elder, the fresh-faced In-Law Newbie, or that one outrageous Outlaw Auntie — you are welcome at our event. Although we wish it could go without saying, we want there to be no question that every person is welcome through our doors and that we do not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression, age, height, weight, physical or mental ability, veteran status, military obligations, or marital status. On the same note, we do not and will not tolerate open discrimination of any kind on our Market floor. Any reported incidence of discrimination will be dealt with immediately and fairly. If the offending party is a vendor, and the complaint is found to be warranted, penalties will result in immediate removal from the premises and there will be no refund of any vendor fees.
